Afternoon Delight: ‘My Lengua’ Is The Workplace Comedy You Didn’t Know You Needed

It’s Thursday. Which means it’s almost Friday. Which means you get to slack off a bit during your lunch hour (especially if you’re stuck working on New Year’s Eve — blergh). Cue: Afternoon Delight: Decider’s own curation of the best of short-form content, including the Internet’s wittiest web series. This week’s pick, My Lengua — or, “My Language” — hails from comedian Miguel Lepe, Jr.

The biting workplace comedy follows Michael (Lepe, Jr.), a Latino who, despite his colleagues’ (and the audience’s) assumptions, does not know how to speak Spanish. Recently let go after a Spanish-speaking phone call gone horribly awry, Michael instills the help of his sister, Gaby (Lorena Diaz), to become a bilingual wheeling and dealing machine before his next job interview. Laugh-out-loud funny with plenty of sharp, subtle commentary on stereotypes that occur both in and out of the office, My Lengua is a must-watch web series you didn’t know you needed. Check out the first episode below and watch the rest on Lepe, Jr.’s YouTube channel.
