Netflix has ordered an untitled horror series adaptation of The Haunting of Hill House from director Mike Flanagan. The 10-episode SVOD original series will be produced by both Steven Spielberg’s Amblin TV and Paramount TV.

According to Deadline, the forthcoming project (helmed by Amblin TV’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey – who will also EP) is a modern retelling of Shirley Jackson’s classic eerie tale, The Haunting of Hill House. The 1959 novel has been adapted to film twice before, once in 1963 and again in 1999, both features simply titled The Haunting.
