Even Alex Jones Doesn’t Want Megyn Kelly To Air The Alex Jones Interview

Where to Stream

Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly

At this point, does anyone besides Megyn Kelly actually want NBC to air her interview with right wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones? Not even Alex Jones wants the interview to air. In response to the controversy surrounding the decision to include an interview with Jones on this week’s edition of Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, Jones took to Twitter and called on the host to pull the segment from Sunday’s show. As Jones tweeted, the interview “misrepresents” Jones’ views on Sandy Hook.

“She said the interview was not going to be about Sandy Hook and the mass shooting there and it was not going to be about Pizzagate and these other issues that the media always obsesses on and misrepresents what I’ve said and what I’ve done,” said Jones in his video response. He then said he doesn’t need to go on “MSM” (“mainstream media”) outlets like Sunday Night, and he added that he canceled an upcoming appearance on The View. In his view, “zombies” watch those shows, and he doesn’t need to do shows for “zombies.”

But he decided to do Megyn Kelly’s show in order to expose the “propaganda” of “MSM.” “I wanted to go inside and see what she would actually do,” he says. According to Jones, who claims to have recorded the audio of the entire interview without Kelly knowing, the host spent “two hours” interviewing Jones on Sandy Hook and other issues. Jones says he believes children died at Sandy hook, and that his “listeners questioned it. I had debates with both sides and I played Devil’s Advocate saying maybe none of it happened or it was all fake, just like they lie about WMDs in Iraq… But the other side of me believes those parents I’ve seen on TV and real mass shootings do happen, so it probably did happen.”

You can see Jones’ tweet and video response below.

In addition to Jones not wanting the interview aired, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. has pulled all of their local TV ads and digital ads from all NBC news programs, effective immediately until after this week’s episode of Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly airs.

Additionally, the gun violence prevention organization Sandy Hook Promise has cut ties with Kelly over her association with Jones. Kelly was scheduled to emcee Sandy Hook Promise’s annual Promise Champions Gala on June 14. Kelly responded to Sandy Hook Promise’s decision with a statement on Twitter:

Kelly’s interview with Jones is scheduled to air on her newsmagazine program Sunday Night, this Sunday at 7PM ET.
