‘Tin Cup’

Each year, two memorable events happen during the third weekend in June: there’s Father’s Day, and then there’s the U.S. Open. This year, celebrate with a screening of the mid-90s rom-com classic Tin Cup. The Ron Shelton-directed 1996 release stars Kevin Costner as a talented nobody golfer and Rene Russo as a psychologist/potential love interest. Throw in Don Johnson and Cheech Marin, not to mention real life golfer Peter Jacobsen, and a wild finish, and you’ve got yourself a perfect third-weekend-in-June movie. Go for the green with Tin Cup.
